This Privacy Policy covers your rights under CCPA (California), LGPD (Brazil), and GDPR (European Union). See Section 9 for jurisdiction-specific rights.
Valens Technologies Inc. ("Valens," "we," "us," or "our") is a Delaware corporation headquartered at 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, Delaware 19713, United States. We operate a social participation platform where creators, communities, and businesses connect through engagement, credibility, and trust.
For GDPR purposes, Valens Technologies Inc. is the data controller for personal data collected through the Platform. For LGPD purposes, Valens Technologies Inc. is the controlador of personal data of Brazilian users. For CCPA purposes, Valens Technologies Inc. is the business responsible for the collection and processing of California consumer personal information.
Payment information is processed securely by Stripe (US), PagBank (Brazil), Apple App Store, and Google Play. Valens does not store full payment card details.
If you connect an external digital wallet, Valens reads only your public wallet address and publicly visible on-chain transaction data to display community support signals. Valens never accesses private keys, recovery phrases, or wallet credentials. See Section 6 for full detail.
We use the information we collect to:
Legal bases for processing (GDPR / LGPD): We process your data on the basis of (a) contract performance — to provide the Services you signed up for; (b) legitimate interests — platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement; (c) legal obligation — compliance with applicable law; and (d) consent — where we ask for it, such as for marketing communications.
Battle participation data — including votes, comments, predictions, and credibility scores — is recorded and displayed publicly on user profiles as part of the platform's transparent reputation system. This data forms part of your Dralens community standing indicator.
Mission Post campaign information — including the campaign goal, description, funding progress, and backer activity — may be visible to other users as part of platform transparency. Creator identity (KYC-verified) is associated with Mission Posts that involve fund withdrawals.
Creator subscription channel settings, pricing, and subscriber counts may be displayed on creator profiles. Individual subscriber identities are not disclosed to other users. Subscription transaction data is shared with payment processors only.
Private Circle Post viewer selections are stored securely and are visible only to the poster. The list of selected viewers is not disclosed to other users, and unauthorized users cannot see that a Private Circle Post exists. Valens does not use Private Circle Post viewer data for advertising or third-party sharing.
Product interactions, clicks, and attributed purchase data are used for commerce analytics and commission calculation. This data is shared with connected sellers for attribution purposes only, in accordance with seller agreements.
Identity and business verification is conducted through Sumsub, our third-party verification provider. Documents submitted for verification are processed and stored by Sumsub under their own privacy policy. Valens receives only a verification status result (verified/not verified) and does not store raw identity documents on Valens servers.
Valens does not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:
All service providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
When you interact with Marketplace products, attribution data (click source, session identifier) may be shared with the connected seller for commission calculation. No personally identifiable information is shared without your consent.
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, including to respond to lawful requests from law enforcement in the United States, Brazil, European Union member states, and other jurisdictions.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or in-app notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We may share your information with third parties when you have given explicit consent for a specific purpose.
Valens operates a strictly non-custodial external wallet system. Valens never holds, processes, controls, or intermediates any user funds or cryptocurrency.
If you connect an external wallet, Valens collects only your public wallet address. This is used solely to:
Valens does not store private keys, recovery phrases, or sensitive wallet credentials. All blockchain transactions occur entirely outside Valens between users and their external wallets. Blockchain data displayed on Valens is publicly available on-chain data — analogous to a blockchain explorer — and is used as a reputational signal only.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. Specifically:
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 9). Certain data may be retained beyond deletion requests where required by law.
Valens implements industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including:
No system is fully secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law (within 72 hours under GDPR; within the timeframes required under LGPD and CCPA).
Depending on where you live, you have specific rights regarding your personal data. We honor all of the following:
Right to know what personal information is collected, used, and shared. Right to delete. Right to opt-out of sale (we do not sell data). Right to non-discrimination for exercising rights. Right to correct inaccurate data.
